Planning Our Future Together

As a retired RN, I believe strongly in the health of communities.  This means affordable housing, safe walking and biking paths, public transportation, and desirable areas for citizens to gather and recreate.  I am also concerned about issues of traffic, green spaces and parks, supporting small business, and other city issues and services.

My many years in health care have led me to develop a strong interest in supporting efforts that provide services for individuals who experience substance abuse and mental health issues.  Both of these concerns are often closely intertwined with homelessness and unemployment.  Understanding how these key issues work together is important in planning how communities deal with these critical challenges.

Develop a comprehensive, equitable plan to support funding for our transportation infrastructure both locally and state-wide

During ODOT’s recent failed efforts to institute tolling on both Interstate 5 and 205 in Clackamas County, I took an active role in opposing the department’s plan.  I gathered a group of citizens together and formed a strong voice in our community who testified before our Oregon legislators.  I plan to continue these efforts toward developing a comprehensive, equitable plan to support funding for our transportation infrastructure both locally and state-wide.

The Charbonneau community and greater Wilsonville have long been concerned about the potential negative impacts surrounding the Aurora Airport expansion and increased traffic at Miley Road and the Wilsonville/Charbonneau/Canby junction on I-5.  Currently, this poorly-planned interchange causes major traffic problems throughout much of the business district in Wilsonville.  It is imperative that the Oregon Department of Aviation, along with ODOT’s plans to rebuild the Boone Bridge, take all of these concerns into account.  I am committed to staying involved on both of these issues to assure that development plans serve to enhance, rather than adversely affect our city.

More discussion on this page soon. Until then, please share your priorities for Wilsonville.
